Dipendra Singh Airee, a Nepali all-rounder, broke the fastest half-century in T20I cricket। On Wednesday, September 27, he surpassed the mark set by former Indian superstar Yuvraj Singh.

The historic moment occurred as the 23-year-old cricketer blasted a rapid half-century in just nine deliveries during the inaugural match of the 2023 Asian Games, facing off against Mongolia. His outstanding performance played a pivotal role in Nepal achieving their all-time highest T20 International score, reaching an impressive total of 314/3 in just 20 overs.

In 2018, Dipendra Singh was one of 11 players who played in Nepal’s first ODI against the Netherlands। In 2018, the all-rounder made his debut in ODIs and T20Is against the Netherlands। In the 2017 Cricket League Championship, he played his first List A game against Kenya.

In the 2017 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup against India, the 23-year-old gave an amazing all-round performance। Dipendra scored a remarkable 88 to help Nepal U-19 reach a competitive total of 185। He also scored 4/39 to lead India’s collapse from 91/1 to 166.

Dipendra’s Player of the Match performance helped him get into Nepal’s squad for the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two competition.

In November 2019, Dipendra made his first-class debut against the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) at his home। He was appointed Nepal’s vice-captain for the 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup due to his outstanding performance.

In his five-year career, the young all-rounder has played 52 ODIs and 44 T20Is, and he has accomplished remarkable numbers, particularly in the shortest format.

Dipendra has scored more than 1,100 runs in T20Is with a stunning average of 35.58 and a strike rate of 132.25, along with a century and five half-centuries। Additionally, he has scored 21 wickets with a stunning 17.95 average and a 6.14 economy rate.

Dipendra Singh played in the recent Asia Cup 2023 and also played in the recently finished Asia Cup 2023. In the second and final Group A game against India in Pallekele, he showed a lot of promise.

After a bad game against Pakistan, where he scored only three points and had a score of 0/40 in six overs, the all-rounder showed some of his skills against the eventual Asia Cup winners.

Dipendra came in at number seven and scored a quickfire 29 out of 25 deliveries, helping Nepal get a competitive score of 230। However, the 23-year-old failed to make a significant impact on the ball, scoring 0/12 in two overs.

Nepal lost by ten wickets to be out of the tournament.

However, when it comes to the 50-over format, Dipendra Singh boasts respectable statistics. He has managed to secure 36 wickets in 52 matches, maintaining an average of 33.19, and consistently keeping his economy rate below four runs per over.
