Prior to the IND vs AUS third ODI, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma battle it out in the practice fields.
The Men in Blue will welcome back their star Indian batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in their last ODI of the current series against Australia on September 27 in Rajkot.
For the first two games of the series, Kohli and Rohit both took rest days. They will now play in Rajkot before traveling to the crucial World Cup, which begins in less than two weeks.
Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma could be seen practicing in the nets in advance of the third ODI in a video uploaded on Instagram by BCCI. The two were expertly timing the ball, which bodes well for Team India moving forward.
Rohit Sharma was pleased with India’s recent performance.
In advance of the third ODI, Rohit Sharma spoke during a news conference on Tuesday. He was generally pleased with how India was preparing for the World Cup.
He also clarified how important it was for their players to accumulate runs and wickets, particularly for those who were returning after a protracted injury layoff.
On this, Rohit stated:
“I am pleased with how the previous 10 ODIs we’ve played have gone. Many players reverted to form, scoring tons of runs while the bowlers claimed tons of wickets. We have seen players who have recovered from injuries in the most recent games. We are essentially set at this stage because they have demonstrated their fitness. Right now, the focus is on moving the team’s situation ahead as well as can.”
Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, and Mohammed Shami won’t be available for selection in the last ODI, according to Rohit. Axar Patel’s recovery is still ongoing, thus Ravichandran Ashwin can have another opportunity to show his mettle.
